Renowned as “Hero of Two Worlds“ for his influence in both French and American history; Marquis de Lafayette was a truly larger than life figure.
Rob from Alpine Distilling in Utah; a 3rd generation Kentucky-raised distiller, briefed us to inject a more authentic feel into his Lafayette whiskey. This softer-style blend was inspired by his “Granny Babe“ who took ripe farm fresh Kentucky stone fruit and soaked them in moonshine for a sweeter, richer flavour.
Our challenge was to capture the historical significance of the name and merge it with the time-honoured tradition and craft of the whiskey making process. To bring this heritage into a contemporary space we created a crest from Lafayette’s original personal stamp, also developing a secondary icon inspired by the “Hero of two Worlds” title.
